Service Description

𝐀 𝐓𝐡𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐝𝐚𝐲 & 𝐅𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐢𝐧 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐞: 𝐅𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐭, 𝐖𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐋𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 Marseille isn’t a city you visit — it’s a city that pulls you in. The salt air, the overlapping voices in alleyways, the way the light hits a cracked wall at just the right angle. It's alive. And for two days — on a Thursday and a Friday — it will be your playground, your canvas, your teacher. I’m Selaru Ovidiu, and I invite you to walk this city with me — not as a tourist, but as an observer, a storyteller, a photographer learning to see more clearly. 📍 Marseille, France 🎓 Instructor: Selaru Ovidiu 👥 Small group: max 6 participants 🗓️ Dates: Thursday & Friday 🕒 18 hours over 2 full days The Experience This masterclass isn’t about settings or gear. It’s about how you see — and how to shape what you see into photographs that breathe. You’ll spend two full days immersed in Marseille’s rhythm: Walking through light and shadow Photographing real people, real gestures Reacting to the unexpected Learning to compose on instinct, not just rules Day One – Entering the Flow 8:30 AM – Coffee, breakfast, introductions. We’ll talk about street photography as a way of life — not just a genre. 9:00 AM to 6:30 PM – Walk the streets of Marseille with intention. Observe, approach, shoot, reflect. Learn how to use light (and Marseille has plenty of it). Embrace colour and black-and-white based on mood and meaning. You’ll finish the day seeing things you’d normally walk past — and capturing them. Day Two – Going Deeper On Friday, we explore deeper layers: Street portraiture: building connection in seconds Minimalism & abstraction: creating impact through simplicity Optional night walk: photographing when the city quiets down and transforms Group feedback and informal review sessions We’ll let the city guide us — always moving, always adapting. What You’ll Learn Street camera mastery – How to become invisible and ready Light-hunting – Working with sun, shadow, and mood Narrative instinct – Turning images into stories Creative freedom – Letting go of rules when needed Authentic street portraits – Connecting without staging What You’ll Need Any camera (DSLR, mirrorless, phone, or film) — ideally with a 24, 35, or 50mm lens Batteries, memory cards, and a light bag Comfortable shoes — we’ll walk a lot Openness, patience, and curiosity
