Through guided walks, hands-on practice, and personalised feedback, this masterclass will refine your ability to anticipate moments, read light, and craft strong visual narratives rooted in real life. Event Schedule 18 Hours | 2 Days 𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝟏: 8:30 AM – Meet-up for introductions, coffee, breakfast, and a discussion on core principles of street & documentary photography. 9:00 AM – 6:30 PM: Master essential camera techniques and composition. Explore photographing people authentically and building documentary sequences. Study how light, shadow, colour, and black-and-white influence visual storytelling. 𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝟐: Focus on street portraiture and documentary storytelling. Creating coherent visual stories within the urban fabric of Marseille. Optional session: experimenting with night street photography. Meal breaks will be coordinated as a group to accommodate individual preferences and dietary needs. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗬𝗼𝘂’𝗹𝗹 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻 𝘾𝙖𝙢𝙚𝙧𝙖 𝙈𝙖𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙧𝐲: Optimise your settings for fast, intuitive shooting. 𝘾𝙝𝙖𝙨𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙇𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩: Use natural and artificial light with intention. 𝘿𝙤𝙘𝙪𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙖𝙧𝙮 𝙎𝙩𝙤𝙧𝐲𝙩𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠: Build sequences and capture scenes with narrative depth. 𝙎𝙩𝙧𝙚𝙚𝙩 𝙋𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙧𝙖𝙞𝙩𝙪𝙧𝐞: Approaching subjects and photographing authentic human moments. 𝘾𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙑𝙞𝙨𝙞𝙤𝐧: Developing your voice while staying true to the reality of the streets. 𝐑𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐄𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 DSLR, mirrorless, phone, or film camera (24mm–35mm–50mm lenses recommended). Fully charged batteries + empty memory card. Lightweight backpack or camera bag. Comfortable walking shoes for long hours on the streets.
