I’m not looking for perfect frames. I’m looking for the moment people forget the camera and reveal who they are.

Service Description
𝗔𝗺𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗱𝗮𝗺 — 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗲𝘁 & 𝗗𝗼𝗰𝘂𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗠𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀 with Selaru Ovidiu Join me for a two-day advanced Masterclass dedicated to Street and Documentary Photography in the constantly moving and visually distinctive streets of Amsterdam. A city shaped by water, architecture, bicycles, multicultural communities, and everyday human interactions, Amsterdam offers an incredibly rich environment for photographers looking beyond the obvious. This experience is designed for photographers who want to move beyond aesthetics and develop stronger, more meaningful visual stories, refining their visual language, strengthening their compositional instinct, and learning how to recognise and anticipate moments as they unfold. Throughout the Masterclass, we will explore documentary layering within Amsterdam’s unique visual rhythm, from narrow streets and canals to markets, residential neighbourhoods, transport hubs, and busy urban spaces. You will work on intuitive street portraiture and candid photography, focusing on authenticity, timing, proximity, and the subtle relationships between people and their environment. We will place strong emphasis on anticipation, rhythm, layering, and the use of natural light as a storytelling tool. Amsterdam’s reflections, shadows, changing weather, architecture, and constantly moving crowds create endless opportunities to build more complex and emotionally engaging frames. Through group discussions and individual feedback, you will learn to evaluate your images more critically, refine your photographic voice, and develop a more coherent body of work rather than simply collecting individual photographs. Recommended lenses for this Masterclass are 24mm, 35mm, and 50mm, a versatile combination for capturing both the environmental context of Amsterdam and the intimate human moments within it. Bring a camera you trust, comfortable walking shoes, and an open, observant mindset, ready to slow down, anticipate, get closer, and discover the stories hidden in Amsterdam’s everyday life.
