𝐋𝐈𝐒𝐁𝐎𝐍 𝐒𝐓𝐑𝐄𝐄𝐓 𝐏𝐇𝐎𝐓𝐎𝐆𝐑𝐀𝐏𝐇𝐘 Join Ovidiu Selaru in Lisbon for an intensive three-day Street Photography Masterclass based on practical work, individual guidance and real situations. Participants will learn how to observe, react and create stronger photographs by connecting people, light, movement and the surrounding environment. Ovidiu Selaru is a Romanian street and documentary photographer with almost two decades of experience. He is the author of the photography book London in Frames and creator of the ongoing documentary project Europe,In Between. His work has been shown in international exhibitions, and his photography focuses on people, human interaction and meaningful moments found in everyday life. WHAT YOU WILL LEARN • Observation and anticipation – how to recognise the potential of a situation and prepare before the moment happens. • Composition and framing – how to organise the elements inside the frame and create clear, balanced photographs. • Layering – how to connect several subjects and actions within one image and give the photograph greater depth. • Approaching strangers – how to communicate naturally, overcome hesitation and photograph people confidently and respectfully. • Light and shadows – how to use changing light, contrast, reflections and silhouettes within the composition. • Timing and movement – how to read gestures, body language and movement and choose the right moment to press the shutter. • Visual storytelling – how to create photographs with atmosphere, emotion and genuine documentary value. • Working with focal lengths – Ovidiu will use 21mm, 35mm and 50mm lenses, explaining how each one changes the distance, framing and relationship with the subject. • Camera preparation – how to choose the settings before entering a situation and keep your attention on the photograph rather than the equipment. Each day will run from 9:00 AM until approximately 7:00 PM, offering three full days of shooting and learning across Lisbon. Ovidiu will photograph alongside the group, explain his decisions as situations unfold and work individually with every participant. Images will also be discussed, with practical feedback. The group will remain small so that everyone receives personal attention. The aim is not only to create strong photographs in Lisbon, but also to develop a clearer, faster and more confident way of working that can be used anywhere. Places are limited.
